Daily Reality NG Mobile App
Real Nigerian content, honest insights, practical knowledge—now in your pocket, wherever you are.
What Is the Daily Reality NG Mobile App?
I'm Samson Ese, founder of Daily Reality NG, and I built this mobile app because I wanted to give you a better way to access the content you trust—without the distractions, without the clutter, and without compromising on speed or quality.
The Daily Reality NG mobile app is designed specifically for Nigerian readers who want fast, reliable access to real-life content about money, business, career, technology, health, relationships, and everything in between. It's not just a mobile version of the website—it's a cleaner, faster, more focused reading experience built for your phone.
I know how frustrating it can be to read on mobile when pages take forever to load, when ads block your screen, or when you lose your place because the site keeps jumping around. I've experienced all of that myself. So when I decided to create this app, I made sure it solved those exact problems.
This app exists for one simple reason: to make it easier for you to stay informed, make better decisions, and access practical knowledge wherever you are—whether you're commuting in Lagos traffic, taking a break at work in Abuja, or relaxing at home in Port Harcourt.
Who Is This App For?
The Daily Reality NG app is built for everyday Nigerians who:
- Want to stay updated on real-life issues without sensationalism or fake news
- Need practical advice on money, business, and career growth
- Value honest, independent content that isn't influenced by advertisers
- Prefer reading on their phones instead of laptops or desktops
- Live in areas with slow or expensive internet and need a lightweight app
- Want to save articles for offline reading when there's no data connection
- Appreciate clean, distraction-free reading experiences
If you've been reading Daily Reality NG on the web and thought "I wish there was a faster way to access this on my phone," this app is for you. If you're new here and looking for a reliable source of Nigerian-focused content that respects your time and intelligence, welcome—you're in the right place.
My Mission With This App
My mission has always been simple: create content that helps people make better decisions and live better lives. The app extends that mission by making that content more accessible.
Here's what I'm committed to with this app:
1. Accessibility: I want you to be able to read Daily Reality NG anywhere, anytime—even when your internet is slow or when you're offline.
2. Quality: Every article in the app follows the same editorial standards as the website. I don't publish clickbait, I don't exaggerate, and I don't let advertisers influence what I write.
3. Respect for Your Time: The app is designed to be fast, clean, and distraction-free. I'm not here to waste your time with pop-ups, auto-playing videos, or aggressive notifications.
4. Privacy: I take your privacy seriously. This app doesn't collect unnecessary data, doesn't sell your information, and doesn't require permissions it doesn't need.
5. Independence: The app is independent, just like the website. I'm not owned by any corporation, I don't have investors pressuring me to prioritize profit over quality, and I don't answer to anyone except my readers—you.
Platform Availability & Current Status
🚧 Currently in DevelopmentI'm being completely transparent with you: the Daily Reality NG mobile app is currently under development. It's not available for download yet, but I'm actively working on it and making steady progress.
Planned Platforms:
- Android: Priority platform (most Nigerian readers use Android devices)
- iOS: Planned for future release after Android version is stable
- Web App: Progressive Web App (PWA) version may launch first for broader compatibility
Why the delay? Because I refuse to rush and release something that doesn't meet my quality standards. I'd rather take the time to build something excellent than push out something mediocre just to say "we have an app."
I'm building this app with limited resources—no investors, no big team, just me and a small group of developers who believe in the mission. That means development takes longer, but it also means the app will be built with integrity, not corporate pressure.

🎯 What Makes Our App Different
Unlike most news and content apps that are bloated with features you don't need, the Daily Reality NG app focuses on what actually matters: giving you access to quality content in the fastest, cleanest way possible. I'm not trying to build the next social media platform or turn you into an advertising product. I'm simply making it easier for you to read the content you already trust.
Content Integrity Inside the App
This is important, so let me be very clear: the content you read in the Daily Reality NG app follows exactly the same editorial standards as the content on the website.
What does that mean in practice?
No alterations for advertisers: If an article on the website criticizes a company or product, that same honest perspective appears in the app. I don't change, soften, or remove content to please advertisers or sponsors.
Same research quality: Every article in the app is researched, fact-checked, and written with the same care as the website content. I don't create "quick mobile versions" with less depth or accuracy.
Editorial independence maintained: The app is an extension of Daily Reality NG's editorial mission. I maintain complete control over what gets published and how it's presented. No third parties, no corporate influence, no compromises.
Regular updates: New articles published on the website are immediately available in the app. You're not getting outdated or secondary content—you're getting the full, current Daily Reality NG experience.
This commitment to content integrity is non-negotiable. If I can't maintain these standards in the app, I won't release it. It's that simple.
For more details on how I approach content creation and editorial decisions, read my full Editorial Policy here.
Privacy, Data & Permissions Transparency
Your privacy matters to me. Let me explain exactly what data the app will collect, why it needs certain permissions, and how your information is protected.
What Data Does the App Collect?
Minimal data only:
- Reading preferences: Which categories you browse most, articles you save or bookmark (stored locally on your device, not on our servers)
- Basic analytics: Which articles are most read, average time spent reading, app crashes or errors (this helps me improve the app)
- Device information: Device type, OS version, app version (necessary for technical support and compatibility)
- Optional notifications data: If you enable notifications, we store notification preferences (which you can change or disable anytime)
What Data Does the App NOT Collect?
- ❌ Your exact location (we don't need or want it)
- ❌ Your contacts list
- ❌ Your photos or camera access (unless you voluntarily submit content)
- ❌ Your call logs or SMS messages
- ❌ Your microphone access for recording
- ❌ Your personal identification documents
- ❌ Your financial information
Permissions the App Requires
Internet access: Required to load articles and sync new content. This is the only essential permission.
Storage access (optional): Only if you choose to download articles for offline reading. You control what gets downloaded.
Notification access (optional): Only if you enable notifications for new articles. Completely your choice.
The app will NEVER request unnecessary permissions. If Android or iOS prompts you for permissions the app doesn't need (like camera, contacts, or location), that's a sign something is wrong—contact me immediately.
How Is Your Data Protected?
• All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS protocol
• Reading preferences and bookmarks are stored locally on your device, not uploaded to servers
• Analytics data is anonymized—I can see trends but can't identify individual users
• I don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
• If you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically deleted from your device
For complete details on data handling, read the full Privacy Policy here.
Advertising & Monetization Disclosure
Let me be upfront about how the app will make money (because transparency builds trust).
Yes, the app will contain advertisements. Running Daily Reality NG costs money—server hosting, development, maintenance, my time—and advertising helps cover those costs so I can keep providing free content to readers.
How Ads Will Work in the App
1. Non-intrusive placement: Ads appear between articles or at natural break points—never in the middle of content you're reading. I hate ads that disrupt reading flow, so I won't do that to you.
2. Clearly marked: All advertisements are clearly labeled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored Content" so you always know what's an ad and what's editorial content.
3. No influence on content: This is crucial—advertisers do NOT get to influence, review, edit, or approve editorial content. If I write an article criticizing a product or company, that article runs regardless of whether that company advertises in the app.
4. Google AdSense compliance: The app uses Google AdSense for ads, which means Google's strict quality and user experience standards apply. This protects you from malicious or deceptive advertising.
5. Sponsored content disclosure: If I ever publish sponsored articles (where a company pays for specific content), they will be clearly marked with "Sponsored by [Company Name]" at the top. You'll never be misled into thinking sponsored content is independent editorial.
What About Premium/Paid Version?
I'm considering offering a paid premium version in the future that removes ads and adds extra features (early access to articles, exclusive content, etc.). But this is still being evaluated. For now, the app will be completely free with ads.
If I do launch a premium version, it will be optional—the free version with ads will always remain available. I won't force you to pay to access basic content.
For full transparency on advertising and affiliate relationships, see the Advertiser Disclosure page.
App Performance & User Experience Focus
I'm building this app specifically for Nigerian users, which means I'm thinking about the real conditions you face every day—slow internet, expensive data, limited phone storage, and inconsistent power for charging.
Mobile Optimization for Nigeria
Lightweight design: The entire app will be under 15MB to download. Many news apps are 50MB, 100MB, or more—that's unnecessary bloat. I'm keeping it small so it doesn't eat up your phone storage or take forever to download on slow connections.
Low data usage: The app is optimized to use minimal data. Articles are compressed without losing quality. Images are optimized for mobile viewing. You won't burn through your data bundle just reading a few articles.
Works on older phones: The app will support Android devices running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and above. I'm not building this only for people with the latest Samsung or iPhone—I want it accessible to as many Nigerians as possible.
Fast loading even on 2G/3G: I've tested the app design on slow connections to make sure it loads reasonably fast even when your internet is struggling. If you're in an area with poor coverage, the app will still work—just slower, not broken.
Battery-friendly: The app doesn't run unnecessary background processes that drain your battery. When you're not actively using it, it's dormant.
User Experience Priorities
- Intuitive navigation: You shouldn't need a tutorial to use the app. Everything is where you expect it to be.
- Readable typography: Font sizes, spacing, and contrast are optimized for comfortable reading on small screens.
- Quick access to key features: Bookmarks, search, categories—all accessible within two taps maximum.
- No unnecessary animations: Fancy animations look cool in demos but slow down real-world use and annoy users. I'm keeping animations minimal and purposeful.
- Offline-first approach: The app is designed to handle poor or intermittent connectivity gracefully. It doesn't just crash or show error messages when your connection drops.
Update & Maintenance Commitment
One of the biggest problems with apps from small publishers is abandonment—they launch an app, it works for a few months, then bugs pile up and it becomes unusable. I'm committed to not letting that happen.
My Update Policy
Regular updates: I'm committing to at least monthly updates for bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. Major feature updates will happen quarterly or as needed.
Bug fixes prioritized: If users report crashes, loading errors, or functionality problems, those get fixed immediately—not in the next scheduled update cycle.
Security updates: Any security vulnerabilities will be patched within 48 hours of discovery. Your safety is non-negotiable.
Compatibility maintenance: As Android releases new versions, I'll update the app to maintain compatibility. You won't suddenly find the app stops working after an OS update.
Feature improvements based on feedback: I'll listen to user feedback and implement requested features that align with the app's mission. You have a voice in how this app evolves.
Long-Term Commitment
I'm not building this app as a short-term project. Daily Reality NG is my long-term commitment to Nigerian readers, and the app is an extension of that commitment. As long as people are reading Daily Reality NG, I'll maintain and improve the app.
If for any reason I can no longer maintain the app (which I don't foresee happening), I'll give users at least 6 months advance notice and ensure you have alternative ways to access the content.
Support & Contact Information
If you encounter problems with the app, have questions, or want to provide feedback, here's how to reach me:

Response Time
I personally read and respond to messages. You're not dealing with an automated system or outsourced customer service—you're talking to me, Samson Ese, the person who built this platform.
Expected response times:
- Critical bugs or crashes: Within 24 hours
- General technical issues: Within 48 hours
- Feature requests or suggestions: Within 1 week
- General inquiries: Within 3-5 business days
How Feedback Is Handled
I take user feedback seriously. Every suggestion, complaint, and bug report gets logged and reviewed. I can't implement every feature request (some might not align with the app's purpose or might be technically infeasible), but I genuinely consider all feedback when planning updates.
If multiple users request the same feature, it moves up the priority list. Your voice matters in shaping how this app evolves.
Accessibility & Inclusivity
I'm building this app to be accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities or limitations.
Accessibility Features
Adjustable text size: You can increase or decrease font size to match your reading comfort. The app layout adjusts automatically.
High contrast mode: For users with visual impairments, a high-contrast theme option provides better readability.
Screen reader compatibility: The app is designed to work with Android's TalkBack and other screen reader technologies for visually impaired users.
Simple, clear language: Articles are written in plain English that's easy to understand. I avoid unnecessary jargon and explain complex concepts clearly.
Low bandwidth mode: For users in areas with very slow internet, a low-bandwidth mode strips out images and loads text-only versions of articles.
Inclusive Design Approach
The app is designed for everyday Nigerians—regardless of your age, education level, tech experience, or location. Whether you're a university graduate in Lagos or a small business owner in a rural area, the app should be easy and comfortable to use.
I'm not building this for tech-savvy elites. I'm building it for everyone who wants access to honest, practical information.
For more information on accessibility standards, see the Accessibility Statement.
Security & Reliability Assurance
Your security is important to me. Here's what I'm doing to ensure the app is safe and reliable:
Security Measures
- Secure connections: All data transmission between the app and servers uses HTTPS encryption. Your reading activity and preferences are transmitted securely.
- No third-party tracking scripts: Unlike many apps that embed dozens of tracking codes from different companies, the Daily Reality NG app keeps third-party scripts to an absolute minimum (only essential services like Google Analytics).
- Regular security audits: The app code undergoes security reviews to identify and fix vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
- Safe from malware: The app will be distributed through official channels (Google Play Store) which scans apps for malware. I will never ask you to download the app from unofficial sources.
- No data leaks: I don't integrate with services that have poor data protection practices. Your information stays within secure, trusted infrastructure.
Reliability Standards
Stable performance: The app is tested extensively before release to minimize crashes and errors. I won't push updates that haven't been properly tested.
Backup systems: Content is served from reliable hosting infrastructure with redundancy. If one server has issues, others automatically take over.
Graceful degradation: If certain features break or servers are temporarily unavailable, the app doesn't completely stop working—it degrades gracefully and still allows you to access core functionality.
I'm not claiming the app will be perfect (no software ever is), but I'm committed to maintaining high standards for security and reliability.
